International Day of Persons with Disabilities: Inclusion in Everyday Working Life

3. Dezember 2025

On 3 December, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Forschungszentrum Jülich is focusing on the working conditions of employees with disabilities. The centre understands inclusion as part of a continuous process in which conditions are designed so that all staff can perform their tasks as independently as possible and in line with their abilities.

In a video, employee Carina Balduin from Projektträger Jülich (PTJ) talks about her everyday working life with a severe disability. She explains which structural and organisational adjustments – such as easier access from the disabled parking space to her office and modifications to doors – are helpful for her, and how important open communication within the team is.
